As soon as you open your eyes and get out of that bed, all your sensory organs swing into action and that begins the stress of the day. But at the end of the day, you will need to relax all these organs and mobilize energy that will carry you through the following day. And the best way to restore your energy is by getting a sound undisturbed sleep. But you can only get a sound sleep when there is no stress.
Chronic or long-term stress can bring about insomnia (sleeplessness). So you must plan to end your day well and stress free so you can get the sleep that will restore your energy. Unfortunately, most people, according to statistics do not get enough of the sleep the body requires.
You can end your day by engaging in some of exercise before going to bed. You may just take a walk to enable you calm your system down before going to bed. This, according to specialists will enhance your ability to sleep well. You release stress by listening to cool soft tones, with natural sounds before going to bed. This can also enable you lessen your tension and enhance your sleep.
You can also end a stressful day by taking a warm bubble bath. Let yourself loose in the bathtub for a while and try freeing your mind. You can also get a massage. There is self-massaging equipment which can help you if you can find someone close by to do it. This will relieve you of stress and enable you sleep well.
Cleaning up before going to bed is another form through which you can relieve stress. Leaving your room unkempt and in disorder could result in extra stress. Cleaning up before going to bed could give you a sense of relief knowing that you won’t need to wake up and face the mess in the morning.
Change your routine before bed time. If you are used to watching television or listening to news before bed time, try doing something else like playing some games that will enhance your sleep.
You can also try writing down every activities you engaged in the whole day, sort out problems that are still unsolved, and note areas you achieved success. If you have more failures than success, switch your mind from the unfavorable aspects of your day and concentrate on the beautiful pleasure events of the day. By so doing, your mind will be clear and ready for the next day.
You may also choose to engage in some form of prayer and meditation.
This could enhance your sleep. You may also sleep with your significant other if you have one before going to bed. Avoid disturbing conversation before bedding and avoid the intake of any caffeinated product as soon as evening begins to approach. Practice all these and you will have ended the day on a good note and get the best night sleep and rest your body needs.
