We’re lucky to be living in an age when scientists are learning more and more about how the brain works, and finding out ways that we can protect our brain power as we age.
Brain researchers used to think that there wasn’t much we could do to improve our brains once we were adults. Scientists used to think that we were born with a fixed number of brain cells, and that millions of those brain cells would die every year until we were left in a state of total senility, losing much of our brain power due to aging.
Scientists also used to think that there was nothing at all that could be done to slow down or stop this process of brain cell death.
New research into brain aging is starting to show a very different picture of brain aging. It turns out that many of those assumptions scientists used to have about the brain were wrong. There is more and more evidence accumulating to show that in most cases, we can hang on to our brain power as we age, as long as we stick to a healthy lifestyle.
Have you ever worried that you might become one of those elderly people who can no longer remember their name, or recognize their family members, because some form of brain disease or dementia has robbed them of their memories? Most of us say we never want to be in that condition.
Our brains are extremely complicated. In fact, the human brain is the most complicated object in the known universe.
Within the brain, there is a constant interplay of many thousands of electro-chemical messengers that move back and forth carrying signals from one cell to another. If your brain is healthy, it has an ample supply of these messengers and receptors all working perfectly.
If your brain stops being healthy, these messages won’t get through, or they won’t be properly stored. Unfortunately for some of us, different forms of brain disease can rob us of our ability to think and remember.
There are many factors that can turn down the wattage on our brain power. If we eat a lot of junk food filled with bad fats, too much sugar, and not enough real nutrition we will be starving our brain of what it really needs. Too much stress, too little exercise, and too many illicit drugs can also interfere with your ability to think clearly.
If you’re serious about boosting your brain power, you should start learning what you can do to give your brain the nutrition, exercise, and sleep that it wants. There are many articles on this website that can help you gain that knowledge.

Are There Specific Brain Nutrients That Can Prevent Memory Loss?
By Michael Browne
There are a number of vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts and other natural compounds that fall under the category brain nutrients.
If you are worried about concentration or memory loss, either now or in the future, it is important to take appropriate and preventative action to protect brain health.
Supplemental products containing natural ingredients which act as brain nutrients, have been shown to be effective in the prevention of brain disease.
Memory supplements containing essential amino acids, vitamins and minerals, herbal extracts, and specialty supplements, provide essential nutrients for the brain. These powerful natural ingredients feed the brain, offering safe and effective neurological protection, while reducing or eliminating the effects of brain cell degeneration.
Brain disorders may arise as a result of nutritional deficiencies, chemical imbalances, from environmental pollutants, or depleted soils (resulting in a food supply lacking in essential nutrients). Time may only worsen these disorders, compromising clarity of thought and quality of life.
Memory supplements, containing brain nutrients have been designed to provide benefits to both young and old, helping to boost memory and concentration as well as acting to prevent memory loss and lower the risks of dementia.
Younger people may benefit from improved mental clarity and thought processes, while those struggling with memory lapses or the early stages of dementia may find that use of supplements containing nutrients for the brain will bring relief, alleviating or reversing their symptoms.
The natural ingredients contained in high quality memory supplements play a key role in health enhancement, in disease prevention, and in reducing health care costs.
Natural ingredients in quality supplements should include: L-Tyrosine, Vitamin B1, B2, Gingko Biloba, Gotu Kola, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, Vinpocetine, and Ribonucleic Acid (RNA), to name a few. These substances offer substantial benefits when it comes to brain function support, delivering essential brain nutrients needed for mental clarity, concentration, short-term memory and learning, and for treatment against senility and dementias, age-related cognitive decline and Alzheimer's disease.
A memory supplement containing these nutrients—ingredients proven to offer valuable protection against neurological degeneration and impairment—is the best protection for you and your loved ones. We have at our fingertips, in modern times, nutrients designed specifically to help improve mental abilities and speed of recall, no matter what the age. We have access to quality nutrients that protect against brain cell degeneration.
The human mind is a precious thing. As one of life’s greatest gifts, it should be nourished and protected. Brain nutrients have proven to be a valuable ally in the war against brain impairment and cognitive decline.
