Have you ever heard of " creative loafing "?  Many of us have very busy days, trying to do so much that we feel guilty about having free time.  The problem is that being busy all the time is not a good way to explore and develop new and creative ideas.  To be truly creative, you need to have some time when your mind isn't preoccupied.  You need to have some quiet time where you just sit around or walk out in nature.

Unfortunately, many of us get so busy that we don't have time for creative loafing.  There's always something else to get done.

If you want to be more creative, you have to make time for it.

Making time to just loaf around may be one of the most important things you can do to increase your creativity. I recently read that one of the main things that may be preventing people’s creativity today is the fact that everyone is just so busy.  More of us need to rediscover the art of creative loafing.

We need to carve out some time from our busy schedules if we want to free our minds to come up with better creative ideas.

With the increased pressures of modern life, it’s much harder for people like business leaders, politicians, scientists and other inventors to find the time to simply absorb what is going on around them and have time to think of creative solutions.

In order to be able to think creatively, people need to let go of their every day worries and tasks.  When we are able to relax we have a better chance to discover new ways to do things.  When we increase the amount of time we spend in creative loafing, we may be able to increase our ability to solve many problems.

Because people are so swamped with work and responsibilities, they don’t have much time to just sit around and day dream.  In fact, sitting around to daydream is frowned on as a time waster.

Is this true in your own life?  Would you be able to come up with some creative ideas if you just had some time to yourself?   Do you dare to just sit and relax?  Do you dare to practice creative loafing?

If you want to improve your creative abilities, you don’t have to try to be creative all the time, and you don't have to loaf all the time.  Just setting aside a half an hour a day to consistently practice some creativity techniques can be helpful.

You may not get your most creative ideas exactly when you want them.  You may find that your best creative ideas show up days later, especially after you have had a chance to sleep one or more times.

To improve your creativity, make sure you get enough sleep.  Sleep helps your mind to reorganize your thoughts and make new creative connections.  Many important scientific discoveries were discovered when a person had the answer come to them in a dream.

You might also benefit from a daily half hour leisurely walk.  You may find this can be a time when you unwind, and your mind comes up with new creative ideas.  Too much stress interferes with creativity.
